I started my career in the automobile
world in 1984 with S+B training at Aston, Bristol as a YTS student.
My nominated dealer to serve my YTS in was Welch cars, a Vauxhall
dealer in Bristol. I passed my City & Guilds part I after my
first year of YTS.
My career took another step when I joined Western Counties BMW as an apprentice to carry on my City & Guilds. I passed my part II and qualified as a BMW technician.
I then joined a non-franchise general motoring centre for a year
to work on all makes of cars at Muller Road Motoring centre.
In 1998 my Toyota career began when I joined Runway Motors of Patchway as a technician.
Runway Motors changed owners a couple of times from Runway to COWIE to Arriva but still a Toyota dealer, it was during my time at Patchway that I qualified as a Toyota PRO technician and an MOT tester.
I was approached by the Service Manager at Auto Scuderia of Long Ashton and changed Toyota dealers in 1996 still employed as a Pro-Technician, I introduced and helped set the MOT side of the business.
In 1998 as was again approached by the Dealer Principle of Brislington Park Toyota & Lexus and joined them as a Pro-Technician/MOT Tester. The Toyota Lexus franchise was terminated and became a Fiat/Alfa Romeo dealer. It was after a approximately a year I was asked to rejoin Arriva Toyota in Patchway, Bristol, which I did in 2000. We were again taken over by Sinter Group and became Toyota World in 2003.
It was during 2004 that myself and Barry had the vision of creating our own Toyota Specialist garage, which we did in June 2004 forming First Choice Toyota Specialist.
